As you all know the two largest Graphics card companies NVIDIA and ATI always put a pressure on each other by releasing their graphics card. Both claims that they have the fastest graphics card, but who is the actual ruler of the Graphics and Performance
ATI has recently released its latest t graphics card i.e. RADEON HD 5970 which is really a good treat for performance hungry and hardcore gamers folks. It seems that the ATI is putting a lot of pressure on NVIDIA, so they came back in to the battle with its latest graphics card called NVIDIA GTX 295.
Both Nvidia's and Ati's graphics card are considered as the "dual GPU cards" because they are specially designed. NVIDIA GTX 295 was made by combining two GPUs (two GTX 280) which works on GT200 architecture, while ATI RADEON HD 5970 is also made by combining two GPUs (two RADEON HD 5870) which works on RV870 architecture.
Over clocking the HD 5970 will be a little bit challenging. For over clocking the device you have to use some utility program like Redline utility. Over clocking enhance the performance but brought the fan noise that ATI graphics card always did. Card comes with an eyefinity technology with which we can use up to 3 displays in single time that enhances the level of immersion in your favorite games.
Nvidia's GTX 295 has the same shader clock speed, core, memory as the GTX 260, each GPUs featuring 80 TAU (texture address units), 28 ROP( rasterization operation units). The performance of card with core i7 is just phenomenal. It outstrips the performance of the HD 4870x2 and core i7. Nvidia pulled off the cooling in a card using a heat pipe based solution.
ATI Radeon HD 5970 shows a amazing benchmarks from popular games like Far Cry 2, GTA 4, Crysis- Warhead. It performed very well on CPU stressing game like GTA 4. When everything was maxed,it record an average of 64 FPS (Frames per Second). It comes with DX 11.0 that enhance the graphics.
Right now ATI HD 5970 comes with a price tag of $990(little bit differ on other sites), that doesn't look a great deal to me.
If you are extreme game lover performance hungry then you must wait for GTX 300 (Nvidia's latest graphics card) which might be release in first quarter of 2010.
